Exactly today, the coronation of Hassanal Bolkiah was held as he became the 29th sultan of Brunei.
He was the eldest son of Omar Ali Saifuddien III, whom he succeeded as Sultan of Brunei.
Bolkiah, currently one of the richest persons in the planet, concurrently serves as the prime minister of the oil-rich Brunei while holding leadership positions in both the defense and finance as well.
The 63-year-old Bruneian head of state became the crown prince in 1961 and sultan on October 5, 1967.
